Donald Trump’s effort to speed up the 2020 U.S. Census likely had its desired effect

Right now, this is the entire story:

The estimated number of “omissions” is 2.8 million higher than for the 2010 Census. The 2020 count was beset by challenges including natural disasters, the pandemic and efforts by the Trump administration to speed it up.[1]

I’ll have to come back to this as Tara Bahrampour is still working on it. But the Trump administration was seemingly determined to undercount migrants[2] and it’s a pretty safe bet that migrants and people of color were disproportionately undercounted.
