In an election that was the Republicans’ to lose, they’re not doing so hot

I’m publishing now. There are some early results here and the message I’m seeing pretty consistently is that a predicted “red wave” has not materialized though they’re all still expecting the Republicans to take the House of Representatives and nobody’s calling the Senate.

Pennsylvania

2022 election

It seems there is, after all, an upper limit to the crazy in Pennsylvania. Both Josh Shapiro and John Fetterman have prevailed, against Doug Mastriano and Mehmet Oz, respectively.[2] Frankly, these results came in somewhat sooner than I expected.

With [California Proposition 1’s] passage Tuesday, the state’s constitution will expressly guarantee a person’s “fundamental right to choose to have an abortion and their fundamental right to choose or refuse contraceptives.” California’s Democratic-controlled Legislature placed Proposition 1 before voters, saying it was needed to ensure that state courts or politicians could not undermine reproductive rights in the future without voter approval.[4]
