Fig. 2. Image credited to Darnella Frazier, made from a video posted to Facebook, of Minneapolis white supremacist gangster Derek Chauvin’s knee on George Floyd’s neck, May 25, 2020, via ABC News,[1] fair use.

Fig. 3. “In this file photo, [Pittsburgh] City [Special Weapons And Tactics] members William Friburger and Donald Savko practice at the shooting range in Highland Park. Many Highland Park residents have been upset for decades over the noise from the shooting range.” Photograph credited to Pittsburgh Post-Gazette,[2] undated, fair use.

In an already dubious national context,[3] where original causes of deviant (colloquially labeled ‘criminal’) behavior are ignored,[4] where cops often exploit judicial deference to their testimony and perjure themselves, usually with impunity,[5] where cops have aligned themselves with white supremacist groups and refuse outside accountability,[6] where police departments have their own colors, their own rigid hierarchies, their own legitimization of violence, and their own ideas about what rules they should adhere to, [they] thus deserve to be presumptively labeled as white supremacist gangs.[7]
