When you see employers complaining they can’t find people willing to work for them ⬇️

To anyone in California reading this:
In California, if there is sufficient space, chairs must be provided. Keeping people standing just causes varicose veins and back problems
The idea that cashiers must stand in order to provide good customer service is such 19th century thinking. It's time to stop this nonsense and allow them to sit down. Good customer service comes from simple friendliness, not forcing someone to stand in one place hours on end.

Not new. WagevOrder 7. Section 14
Hmmm…. I don't remember cashiers having chairs at the @WholeFoods Markets in California, and you know, that's the sort of place that claims to be about health. Is this a new law? Am I mistaken?

I am certified in Cali law. Look at the wage order for retail at the DIR. It is in there. Most retailers ignore it, but complaints might change that….

Compliance is very low. If people complained, the Labor Commissioner would crack down
Thanks! Next time in California, I'll take a look.
But I'd be *very* surprised if any cashiers I've seen have chairs.
