Not just the old Confederacy

There is a new blog post entitled, “Normalized pedophilia and other discrepancies of the young.”

Evictions

Bullshit:

The pandemic hit Tracy Scopel’s Pittsburgh business hard, causing her to miss rent payments on her home for the first time ever. Facing eviction, Ms. Scopel said she applied for rental assistance through Allegheny County, Pa., in late March. Ten minutes before a court hearing earlier this month, she got an email informing her that she had been approved for aid and would be fully caught up on her rent.

“‘The system works,’” a local judge told her after she read the email to him, she said.[1]

No, the system doesn’t work. If that email had arrived ten minutes later, she’d have been evicted. And none of this mitigates the trauma Tracy Scopel endured waiting for relief and worrying about losing her home. That that judge can carry on as if all is well is a significant part of the problem.

Pandemic

We’re seeing an awful lot of coverage of the South and vaccine hesitancy.[2] I’m becoming concerned that this is starting to look like an Old Confederacy problem when, in fact, the problem is nationwide, the evil idiots I lament[3] are everywhere.

White supremacy

Wright Thompson’s article[4] is a long read. It’s worth it.
