I guess we’ll eventually see what the Supreme Court thinks of this:

Since passing in November, [Oregon’s gun control] measure has faced a number of legal challenges, with the NRA’s legislative action arm lamenting it as “the nation’s most extreme gun control Initiative.”

But [U.S. District Court Judge Karin] Immergut’s ruling maintains that while the Second Amendment does protect against “bearable arms” as listed in the US Constitution, large-capacity magazines are a “subset of magazines” – and therefore, not considered a bearable arm.[1]

I wish that progressives were even half a match for conservatives. Donald Trump’s supporters can vote for him knowing that Republicans will make a real effort to pass their priorities and to confirm judges who will protect those priorities.

Progressives, on the other hand, are stuck with the Democrats, whose fealty is to neoconservatism and thus, as a moral imperative, to neoliberalism.[2]
