What is Pittsburgh mayor Ed Gainey doing? Anything? Anything at all?

Between the city of Pittsburgh[1] and effectively anonymous property ownership,[2] there’s an awful lot of blight that isn’t being remedied. While the out-of-state ownership may require state action,[3] the failure even to demolish city-owned uninhabitable properties is yet another Ed Gainey failure.[4]

This accompanies failures on homelessness and infrastructure. And the question keeps coming up: What is Gainey doing?

I see nothing. I hear nothing. There is no explanation whatsoever, just a deafening silence. I conclude, therefore, that Gainey is doing nothing.
