If this is a pretext for the North Atlantic Treaty Organization to launch war against Russia, it strikes me as flimsy. If, on the other hand, it’s saber rattling to ensure Vladimir Putin knows that NATO is serious, well, that’s about as meaningful as a dick-measuring contest.
Either way, I think it was Julia Ioffe who early on warned that wars can’t always be contained within specific borders. Whatever else we’re seeing, we’re certainly seeing that.
